Duval-Leroy Brut on New York Times Must-Have List

What wines can you turn to every day for guaranteed enjoyment? Eric Asimov explores the topic in his New York Times column this week, and there’s one Champagne among the dozen wines he advises readers to always have on hand: Duval-Leroy Brut NV.

“Wine lovers can know they will drink well if they always have certain fundamental bottles on hand that will complement just about any meal,” Asimov writes. He cites reds and whites – and then considers sparkling wine.

“For the occasional festivity, or simply for a platter of fried chicken or takeout sushi, a dry sparkling wine is a must,” Asimov writes. “Why not Champagne?” While many assume that all Champagne is outside their reach, he goes on, “you can still find a good nonvintage brut like Duval-Leroy.”
