In 1859, the vine-growing family of Duval joined the Champagne merchant family of Leroy, establishing the iconic Champagne house and style of Duval-Leroy. The winery remains a rare family-owned Champagne house, handed down for six generations.

In 1911, the winery produced Fleur de Champagne Brut Premier Cru, the initial creation of Premier Cru Champagne.

In 1991, Carol Duval-Leroy joined a very select group of women running Champagne houses after the sudden loss of her husband, Jean Charles, that same year. Today, Carol is Chairman & Chief Executive of Champagne Duval-Leroy and President of the Comité Interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne /CIVC (Wine Association of the Champagne region). She is joined by her three sons in running this iconic House.

In 1994, Champagne Duval-Leroy became the first wine producer in the world to be certified ISO 9002, upholding standards of customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, systems approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.

In 2010, the winery inaugurated a solar panel installation, rain water recycling system and sound insulation by walls covered in vegetation.
